Introduction
DaniolaCorp is a digital platform that serves as a bridge between gem miners, offtakers, and vendors. It offers an auction system to facilitate the exchange of precious gems, while also providing tools for tracking, secure payments, and seamless in-app communication among all stakeholders.
Problem
The complex task for DaniolaCorp involves addressing the diverse needs of miners, offtakers, and vendors through the creation of a navigation system that grants effortless access to auctions, tracking, and communication. Beyond this, the platform's priorities include fostering trust and security through transparent details about gem authenticity, vendor credibility, and secure transactions. Further enhancements to the auction system's responsiveness and real-time updates are vital to prevent missed opportunities. Equally significant is the challenge of enabling seamless and private in-app communication among stakeholders, demanding meticulous attention in its implementation.
Brief
Upon receiving the project brief, I was assigned the responsibility of developing fundamental system features. These encompassed crucial elements such as an In-app messaging system, consignment tracking, team member roles and management, as well as user ratings.
Miners
They own the mines and put up gems for auction.
Offtakers
They are buyers that have agreed to buy a substantial portion of a mined product (gems) from the miners.
Vendors
They provide tools and equipment to the miners to facilitate the mining operation.

In-App Messaging
The in-app messaging system allowed miners, offtakers, and vendors to be a constant communication when a consignment is enroute.This communication channel remains open throughout the transaction's progress and closes upon completion. This approach ensures that users cannot bypass the system to manipulate auctions.
Tracking system
The tracking system enables both miners and offtakers to monitor consignments in real time, providing a live overview of the product's activities until it reaches its final destination.
Team members & roles
The team member allows roles enables mining companies to add users to the platform with specific permissions. This feature grants the ability to add users while assigning specific permissions tailored to their roles.
Highlights
This project held a special intrigue for me, offering a chance to delve into a side of design I had yet to consider. Before this endeavor, my experience had not touched upon the mining industry. However, this project provided me with the opportunity to broaden my knowledge and perspectives within the mining sector. Contributing to the team that brought this concept to life has greatly improved my design journey, leaving a lasting impact.
Conclusion
In summary, the journey through the DaniolaCorp design was an enlightening and transformative experience. I gained valuable insights into the intricate world of gem trading. Navigating the complexities of designing for this dynamic industry expanded my horizons, while contributing to essential features underscored the importance of user-centered design and efficient teamwork.
